The manufacturer, which seeks to disseminate its chips into smartphones and tablets, is holding a contest to encourage developers to port their applications to the x86 architecture.
Intel CodeFest starts on October 12.
Intel is determined to get a place in the market for mobile devices. New generations of x86 chips, more energy efficient and faster arrive gradually in tablets and smartphones. Meanwhile, the semiconductor giant seeks to attract developers to encourage them to develop their applications specifically for these new platforms. As such, Intel launched a development competition in partnership with BeMyApp, which is a specialist in this kind of event.
The operation is called charm CodeFest and will be launched on 12 October in Paris and 14 October in the province, and will last two weeks. It is intended for Android developers who already have applications on PlayStore. The goal is to give them all the tools and methods necessary to bring these applications to an x86 architecture. The authors of the 15 published applications will each receive a Nexus 7 tablet. The winner of the challenge will receive a ticket for two to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
