The Ministries of Finance and the Digital Economy have not invited a representative of the digital economy, except Orange, October 9 debate on taxation. The AFDEL regret that choice.
The Afdel, an association of 350 French software and internet solutions, lamented that no representative of the digital economy has been retained by Bercy under stakeholder seminar on the taxation of digital organized this Wednesday, October 9 .
Entitled "Emerging issues of taxation in the digital age", this seminar will be opened by the Minister for the Digital Economy, Fleur Pellerin, and closed by Pierre Moscovici, Minister of Economy and Finance, Semeta , the European Commissioner in charge of Taxation and Yves Leterme, Deputy Secretary General of the OECD.
The program includes three separate discussions with stakeholders are representatives announced MEDEF or the Finance Committee, or rapporteurs of information on digital and taxation mission. The only company represented is the operator Orange.
Bercy "did not accept the principle of an adversarial" and the seminar "does not include any representative of the digital economy," lamented Adel in a statement.
The trade association also said "surprised" that the seminar "gives a voice to all the supporters of a specific national tax and targeting the digital."
The Afdel "questioned the desirability of involving in this debate seems decidedly organized dependents, other industries that certain positions regularly stigmatize players of the digital economy," to actually two speakers Louette (Executive Director of Orange) and Pascal Rogard (President of the French Coalition for Cultural Diversity).
On September 10, the National Council of digital (CNN) which had been seized by Bercy on the taxation of digital, has advised the government to set up a special tax on the digital sector, calling for an international initiative "immediate".
