Finished Atom, Intel is preparing its first 64-bit ARM chip

Intel may finally abandon its Atom and ARM side of the store for its next chip for mobile devices. It would begin producing a 64-bit ARM chip next year.
While Intel dominates the desktop PCs, the company is still struggling to find a place in our pockets with Atom. Manufacturers often prefer him ARM solutions, whether they come from Qualcomm, Nvidia, Samsung or even less renowned MediaTek. The best solution would be likely to stand on the same side, and that would be exactly what would count to Intel starting production at its own 64-bit ARM chip. Forbes reports that it should start next year.
The new course has been making waves in the high-tech landscape. On the one hand, the ARM-Intel duo looks promising to say the least. On the other hand, it could affect the entire semiconductor industry. Indeed, Intel has even plans to open its facilities to its competitors in the future. For the record, it is one of the few founders to ensure himself all stages of the production of its processors. On the other hand, ARM Holdings does not manufacture. He is "satisfied" to develop architectures that sells licensed to smelters around the world, which outsource manufacturing to speak of their chips.
By offering its competitors make their ARM processors, Intel also place direct competitor of these subcontractors, as the giant TSMC particular. His arrival in the game could then disrupt the market, if he offers competitive rates. Eventually, the cost of manufacturing the chips may fall.
