First test on the camera of the Nexus 5

Like it or not, the digital camera has never been the strong point of the Nexus smartphone. However, it seems that Google has wanted to change that through its new Nexus 5. In fact, if you do not already know, the Nexus 5 is equipped with a Sony IMX179 BSI type 8 MP able to shoot Full HD CMOS sensor, and is equipped with an optical stabilizer OIS as the LG G2 .

Apart from this, we are faced with a sensor with a focal aperture f/2.53, which provides a relatively high light input and thus reduced exposure time. Also, this camera has a HDR + function is simply an improved version of HDR. The whole is supported by an LED flash to capture good quality pictures in a very dark environment.

As you can see, the record is good, and well above what was present on the Nexus 4. In addition, videos that have been taken by the Google Nexus 5 were also posted online so you can see the difference with the other high-end smartphones of the moment, like the Galaxy S4 for example:

While the digital camera of Nexus 5 does not count bluff you with any new technology such as the HTC ultraPixel One, it should be perfectly suitable for everyday use and realistically. The HDR + is also a plus, which considers an improved HDR known in almost all high-end smartphones of the moment, and brought in most cases with the update to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. If you do not yet know the value of this new feature, it allows you to take multiple shots at different exposures and choose the best of them.

In any case, it is true that the sensor Nexus 5 is always BSI type, but you can clearly see an improvement over the Nexus 4 last year. We certainly have a much more detailed report on the subject in the near future test.
