For the uninitiated, the chemistry is often complex, when it is not simply incomprehensible. But it is often pure magic. The proof image with the famous reaction of iodine clock or reaction Harcourt-Esson, or how to change a colored liquid in a snap!
This chemical reaction is known to chemists, it is used in particular to explain the chemical kinetics. For others, looking rather below. Take two liquid transparent, mix and ... voila! In the second quarter, the liquid is black and opaque. Better yet, you can do very easily become transparent.
Why? How? Little explanation. In the first fluid, of peroxide hydrogen - the hydrogen peroxide - and sulfuric acid, in the latter, of potassium iodide, sodium thiosulfate and starch. Once mixed, two reactions take place. The first, slow, creates triiodide ions, while the second, very fast, are used to convert the iodide.
These variations in speed driving change, brutal and almost instantaneous color. See again and again! A copy also home very easily using commercial products.
